Competition for participation in the program "Polonez Bis"

The Department of Food Chemistry and Biocatalysis of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences is looking for a PhD student for the Polonez Bis project funded by the National Science Center entitled: "Unlocking Bioactivity of Forest Plants Associated Mycobiome as Sources of Novel Carotenoids and other BioPigments: Intensifying their Potential using Nanotechnology”.

Requirements:

  1. Master's degree in biological or agricultural sciences.
  2. Knowledge and experience related to the subject of the project (synthesis, characterization, and testing properties of nanomaterials).
  3. Good communication skills in English.

The scholarship holder's tasks will include participating in the team's tasks, in particular:

  1. Analysis of scientific literature (mainly in English) related to the subject of the project.
  2. Synthesis and characterization of nano-based materials.
  3. Testing physical properties of nano-based materials.
  4. Participation in the preparation of reports and scientific publications.
  5. Participation in national and international scientific conferences.

 Working conditions:

Task implementation period: 10 months (from January 1, 2024)

Scholarship agreement in the amount of PLN 2,500 gross per month

 Required documents:

  • Master's degree diploma
  • CV (containing information about research experience and scientific publications as well as awards and distinctions)
  • letter of motivation
  • Indicate at least one person who can be contacted in order to obtain a recommendation (with basic contact details).

 In the first stage of recruitment, candidates' achievements will be assessed on the basis of submitted documents. In the second stage, the commission may invite selected persons (who best meet the above-mentioned requirements) for an interview (stationary or on-line).
