Recruitment for the SEASONED Summer School on Basic Sensory Method

Recruitment is currently ongoing for a summer school on basic sensory methods in food science, organised as part of the SEASONED project.

The event will take place at Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche - UMH (Alicante, Spain) on 10-16 July 2023.

We would like to invite:

- Master's students

- doctoral students

- academics who, at the end of the summer school, will be no more than 7 years after their doctoral degree.

The trip, accommodation and participation in the courses are organized by UPWr and UMH and are fully financed by the SEASONED project (transport, accommodation, meals, participation in the courses).

The Summer School is focused on basic sensory methods (discriminative, descriptive, and effective testing). Students will get hands-on experience with planning and conducting sensory and consumer tests and will visit the labs. The summer school will be based primarily on practical workshops, engaging participants in the experience and equipping them with practical, current and exciting knowledge for use in contemporary food science research.

In the qualification for the summer school, criteria to be taken into account will be:

1) knowledge of English - at least B2 level - a necessary requirement - courses are held wholly in English,

2) previous scientific, academic, professional and other achievements - especially their relation to food science: from 0 to 10 points,

3) motivation for participation, including plans for further academic work and relevance to food science: from 0 to 10 points.

In case of a large number of applicants, it is possible that selected candidates may be invited for interviews conducted online.
