Path 1: on the basis of the highest academic achievements, without having completed second-cycle or long-cycle studies

Admission path 1 to the UPWr Doctoral School applies to candidates referred to in art. 186 paragraph 2 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science, i.e. graduates of first-cycle studies or students who have completed the third year of uniform Master's studies and demonstrate the highest quality of scientific achievements.
If in the year of applying to the Doctoral School, you do not complete or have not completed second-cycle or long-cycle studies, this path is for you.

Criteria

Above mentioned candidates submit an official request to the Recruitment Committee for permission to take part in the 1st stage of the admission process.

Candidates can be granted permission to pass to the 1st stage of admission if they obtain a positive evaluation of their scientific achievements. Documents confirming scientific achievements must be attached to the official request.

The Recruitment Committee assesses scientific achievements according to the following criteria:

  • authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals of at least national scope or scientific publications in the form of a book (in case of publications, please write journal's score from the current ministerial list of journals);
  • participation in research projects conducted by a research unit in cooperation with other research units or partners from the socio-economic environment;
  • authorship or co-authorship of a patent or utility model;
  • reports at scientific conferences;
  • awards in international competitions;
  • active participation in the work of the university research club (Polish: koło naukowe);
  • participation in international programs realized as part of international scientific or didactic cooperation between universities;
  • participation in internships abroad.
